DIY // Fabric Cat Brooch

This week I bought my first piece of clothing that feature an over all cat print (actually my first article of clothing that has any cats on it) which means that my status as a cat lady has officially been set in stone. I thought I would commemorate my further advancement into being a 'cat person' with a cat DIY. The how-to can be found after the jump. I thought I would note here that the wooden base of this project can be purchased at Michael's for 23 cents and I highly suggest you pick one up and make your own version of this super quick project that honestly took me all of 25 minutes to make.

Cats #8 // Silly Things

A few nights ago I indulging in a late night snack attack on some Swedish Fish when I noticed my smallest feline, Lily, seemed to be in a trance... It was adorable. She just sat on a bar stool staring at the lights, like a little cat zombie. I am fairly positive that her strange behavior was because normally flies and moths swarm around the lights over the counter on summer evening and I've noticed that my cats sometime convince them selves that there is a flying insect in the kitchen during a period of boredom when in fact nothing is there. My cats are silly. That's all.

Cats #7 // Inside

Cache hates being an indoor cat, he responds to the words 'potty' and 'outside' always directed towards our Boxers not the cats... by running to the back door in hopes of sneaking outside in between the dogs legs. He is very sneaky. It breaks my heart that he wants to be outside so bad because I know its not safe for him, my house is located in the country (relatively speaking) and the speed limit is 40 mph which is rarely obsereved and traveled on at much faster speeds combine that with a lot of country-cat-strays I often see dead cats on the side of the road. I fear for this little felines life plus my parents hate always chasing after him while I am at school.

Cats #6 // Silly Matty Boy

There is a 9 pound feline who is  goofy beyond comprehension, playful too a fault and wreck less with his toys. This Cat Mama, I am talking about myself, decided she needed a cat 'toy  box' aka a shallow wicker basket to store cat things in so the babies* could stop messing up our room and losing EVERY SINGLE toy under the bed/dresser... but this silly boy thought he wasn't supposed to take his toys out of the basket and proceeded to play with his things INSIDE of the basket for a couple hours. He is seriously the cutest thing EVER. I love him. He is my baby boy.

* To clarify when I say babies I am either referencing my three cats or just Lily and Matty. I am sorry but context clues will need to be used to deduce which way I am using the term. If I am comparing and contrasting Cache to Lily/Matty the word babies will always be used in place of Lily &Mattys names. For the purpose of this post I am talking about all 3 of my cats. I felt the unnecessary urge to explain!

Cats #5 // Big Brother & Little Sister Love

I guess sometimes I walk into my bed room to find one cat using the other cats' butt as a pillow. Notice the rug? It should be on the opposite side of the room... so I assume my little felines fell asleep playing/wrestling with this rug...rugrats.

Cats #4 // The Lily Monster

(I seriously enjoy writing these proud mama posts tooo much!)
I have this sweet baby girl named Lily or as I like to call her The Lily Monster because she only wants you to pay attention to her when you can possibly handle a feline like while folding laundry, putting on your make-up or cooking dinner but in all honesty I normally throw this tiny thing across my shoulders to hunker down and take a nap even during the previously mentioned activities. And yes I did just state that it is easier to wear Lily like a scarf across my shoulders that it is to her cry at my feet and suffering the pain of her attempts to climb up my body via my skin which again is why she is unofficially known as The Lily Monster. My baby girl is a tad needy but only of my attention and Sergio always makes me feel  a little ungrateful when I complain about this small con in Lily's personality.

Moving on,  I took this precious picture of Lily sleeping on my messy desk after one instance of  repeatedly denying her cuddly advances because I knew her motive was to to sleep on my hands across the key board... I think she  deliberately fell asleep pouting in a spot she knew I would come back to because then I would be forced to photograph her cuteness and have to praise her for the rest of her nine lives to make up for not indulging her. Smart little lady.

p.s. look at all the glitter in her fur
p.s. before you freak out I cleaned Lily off before she cleaned herself to prevent her from ingesting harmful craft supplies.

Cats #3 // Lily Girl

This is my little tiny 5 pound baby girl, Lily. Such an odd little thing she is and loves to sleep on your shoulders, be held while I am putting on make-up and nipping the tip of my nose. I swear that my cats are only interested in being around me when I am trying to take pictures. On this particular day I was trying to take a couple pictures of The Road and ended up having to wake up this silly little thing and bring my props outside.

Cats #2 // Cache Money

Oh, the life of a cat is so tough! When I took these, I was trying to photograph a DIY project that I haven't shared on the blog yet. This little man decided to curl up on my lap and ham it up in front of the camera. I figured he would be done with me after a minute of petting but we wound up snuggling for a half hour. It seems the only time my cats want to spend time with me is when I am in the middle of a project or putting on make-up AKA the only times I am not constantly trying to scoop one of the three up.

Cats // Matty Boy

It was only a matter of time before I sunk into eternal Cat lady-dom and began sharing pictures of the three most adorable kittens in blog history. Frequent Thursday Mornings will bring you silly pictures of my felines.
I took these photos on the 5th when I had to reluctantly taking down the Christmas tree. Matty was reluctantly saying goodbye to his favorite sleeping spot until next November. Poor baby. I wonder where he will nap for the next 10 months? Well, If I had it my way he wouldn't have to find a new spot because the tree should still be up.

I was inspired by this post featured on Cute Overload to scan my kittens here is what I came up with... (My favorite image is the last one of my kitten Matty's chubby little toes)
