It's been so long since I took the time to do an Oh, Shoot! post which is really inexcusable since I am sure I perfect a different camera manipulation almost once a week. I should get back on top of this series. (would you like that?) I recently mentioned that I broke the camera that I got just last summer and the camera that takes ALL my blog photos (don't ever buy a point and shoot with a touch screen AND no view finder... because when that screen breaks... I can't even describe how upset you will be) and since it has been rendered basically useless I've felt a lot freer to take bigger risks with my broken camera... like figuring out a way to take underwater photos! I know that sounds scary but it isn't at all! No joke. I've done it about 3 times now and have figured out the basics for making an underwater housing for it but everyday I've been tweaking the design a little bit. There happen to be a few more ideas I want to try to improve the photo quality before I share how to make a fool proof DIY underwater digital camera. Until then I thought I would share some test photos from the last couple days. I should warn you 90% of the time I am the only person in the pool so 90% of these photos are just of me. More images after the jump.
Enjoy!

Oh, Shoot! #4
I have such a wondrous time playing around and manipulating the lens on my point & shoot camera. Not much to say about this installment of Oh, Shoot! except I would like to note that the only post editing I did on all the images was to slightly adjust the exposure.. The effect is achieved by holding a plastic pendant from one of my necklaces that featured many facets with a large smooth side. I enjoy the end result that I may start using this technique to add a little flair to my outfit posts. I took these photos this past fall which is why you might notice some fabulous fall leaves, a pumpkin and plump little cherries. Enjoy. (You can find more images after the jump)

Oh, shoot! #3
Lucky you! I've got another Oh, Shoot! for all my lovely blog readers! I am REALLY pleased with how this photo experimentation turned out. I have so many ideas of how to expand this idea into 4 or 5 other ideas. I am especially pleased because I feel that I finally created a disposable camera like effect without using photo manipulating software aside from minor color editing and resizing on picnik. First and Second installments of Oh, Shoot! can be found here. Also more images and the how to after the jump!

Oh, Shoot! #2
I've been having so much fun trying to get my point and shoot to create toy camera like images and because my digital camera is relatively inexpensive I am not so afraid to experiment. I have been having so much fun putting tape over this or temporarily attaching that to the lens. Without further delay here is the second installment of Oh, Shoot! ( You can view the first one here) More images after the jump!

Oh, Shoot!
Awhile ago I mentioned at the bottom of this
post that I have been experimenting with ways to physically manipulate
the images that my point and shoot camera produces without any sort of
post-picture-taking-editing. I have had a ton of ideas flop but I've got a growing collection of tricks that have actually worked out for me that I would like to share with you. This is the first installment of Oh, Shoot! I hope you get inspired to show your point and shoot a little bit more lovin'. First I will show you the images I have come up with then I will share how I achieved the look.
Neat right? I took these photos this summer during one of my many visits to Yellowstone. In order to produce images like the above just put your camera on its macro or close-up setting, turn off the flash and hold it up to one lens of a pair of binoculars then just focus and snap away! I suggest putting the binoculars and camera on tripods because that way the images will be much much much clearer. The examples above are a result of holding each with an unsteady hand.
Now for the your input let me know in the comment section if you enjoyed this or if you would prefer not to see content like this on Eloquent Sticks and Stones? Not that any of my blogging plans will change I just like to know what my readers think.
