7 on Sunday #24

[1. link] I had this movie camping out in my instant que for like 3 months and I regret every month. This is hands down my new favorite comedy in my opinion it is on the same level of good as Little Miss Sunshine.
[2. link] I wouldn't mind being able to wear a plant around my neck.
[3. link] Bret, Unbroken is an article from the most recent Runner's World magazine that not only offers a new perspective on running  but introduced me with a new out look on life. It is a lengthy article but so worth the time. I highly suggest you read it in it's entirety. (if you have never clicked any of my 7 on Sunday links and never plan to at least look at this one)
[4. link] I love this WiscoKid Tee. The best part is a portion of every purchase goes to support the Boys and Girls club...Cool swag for a good cause. The website has a ton more Wi designs I reallly want one of each.
[5. link] This article about body image and fast fashion really resognated with me personally. I want cheap clothes but I also get so discouraged about the way clothing tends to fit my body.
[6. link] My BFFL (Hi, Kate!) lent me Sex God which is a book that explores the connection between sexuality and God but on a much deeper level just the physical act of sex. It is so interesting even if you are not religious it is worth it just consider a different take on human relationships.
[7. link] I just really want to visit American Gothic like yesterday.

7 on Sunday #23

[1. link] Kmart has a sense of humor who knew?
[2. link] I have been shopping around for a dress to wear to my cousin's graduation ceremony I am either getting this colorful number or....
[3. link] I might buy this adorable dove dress BUT I can't decide. I am having a hard time because her school is pretty classy and I just don't want to look like a hillbilly compared to preppy/country club chic parents who will also be in attendance.
[4. link] My Utah church just released a pretty neat video library with a ton of resources. I think it is a really great idea.
[5. link] I have seen some pretty intricate hair styles lately floating around on Pinterest but this one is da bomb.
[6. link] I just found out about ShopKick a few days ago and I am in heaven because I get rewards for walking into stores I already shop at.
[7. link] This is a two for the price of one deal! I have seen the Dove Beauty Sketches floating around on the Internet and I highly recommend watching it. I showed it to the most beautiful woman I know, my mom, and she thought it was really interesting also. I am being vague on purpose because in my opinion the less you know about the video the more exciting the concept will seem. The second Dove link is the Self-Esteem Kit which is a free resource created with the intention of creating an open and honest discussion about body image with young women. I believe Dove is going beyond corporate marketing and really changing the way women feel about themselves.

7 on Sunday #22

[1. link] I think this Parks & Rec coloring book from Etsy is really funny and something I would totally love to be gifted.
[2. link] CAT bag! enough said.
[3. link] I really adore this shirt and For some weird reason my brain thinks this tee would be perfect for long road trips. I really do love the PNW.
[4. link] Perhaps my favorite thing to include in a Seven on Sunday post ever would be the Happier App. It is a breath of fresh air in today's toxic social networking society. Check out the web site for more info.
[5. link] An NPR road map that lists what station you can find NPR on through out the entire United States. I love that is an actual paper map and not an app which is way more convenient on a road trip. I might be purchasing this item very soon.
[6. link] Please check out Better World Books as soon as you can!!! It has cheap recycled books and free shipping. When I say cheap I mean like 3.99 for popular novels. This website will be getting a lot of my pay check.
[7. link] I have wanted a PBS t-shirt since my days of watching Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood and I just found out that I can purchase the shirt of my dreams directly from the PBS website. EKK!

7 on Sunday #21

I have been pretty busy doing amazing things with my life but realized two things last night. The first thing I realized was that today was Sunday. The second thing I realized was that I hadn't put together a 7 on Sunday post in awhile. So... TADA! I wanted to pop in and share a few things that are currently on my radar. I would also like to note that I originally loved the idea of  keeping this series as my only image free post but I am currently toying with ideas to whip up a fresh new look for next week. So check back soon! Aware of anything floating around on the Internet I might enjoy? If so feel free to leave me a link or suggestion in the comment section.

7 on Sunday // Freaks and Geeks

This past week my life changed... I re-watched Freaks and Geeks on Netflix for the first time since it was on air in 2000. Then I was only 11 years old and had not realized my undying love for Nick Andopolis or my admiration for Linsey Weir's massive balls. Well over the course of three days I watched 18 episodes of the most amazing show in TV history. I always knew I loved this show but I had no idea how much. SRSLY! If we are close friends and you haven't watched every episode of this TV show within the last three year we just became less close. This show is honestly part of who I am now which is super cheesy but completely true. I decided to revive the 7 on Sunday Series by compiling a Freaks and Geeks themed list. If I missed any links you are aware of or think I should check out please forward me those links!

1. This Sam Weir shirt is magical.
2. A visual representation of one of my personal favorite  moments of the show.
3. This is the only thing I am putting on my birthday list.
4. This fan site made me feel like it was 2000 and Freaks and Geeks was still on Air.
5. "You cut me off mid-funk."... don't get it? Then watch this.
6. I almost jumped out of my pants when I saw the title of this Vanity Fair article.
7. IMBD trivia has some good stuff listed but the fourth fact from the bottom and the last fact are my favorite things found on the Internet since my obsession began... five days ago.

[Bonus link this Freaks and Geeks drinking game made me laugh and think one could get pretty wasted playing this game]

7 on Sunday : Running Edition

1. I really love this running inspiration because there's a positive message that doesn't also diminishing one's current self worth.
2. This marathon training schedule from Shape Magazine has been itching my brain. I might start doing it but I feel nervous.
3. I am really interested in the Nike FuelBand bracelets but I am not convinced it is worth the 150 dollars, I think the mobile software aspect of it is really cool but I think I will stick with my Pedometer and food diary for now.
4. I've been on the hunt for cute exercise tee's to wear while jogging/walking/biking since I live in a small town and people notice when you've worn the same 4 shirts running for the last 3 weeks. This Nalgene V-neck is perfect. I need it. Plus it has a mountain lion on it. score.
5.  I LOVE the way the dip dye sports bras from Target look. I MUST get either the Lime/Turquoise Bra or the Blue/Aqua Bra
6. Once I reach my fitness (not weight loss) Goal I am buying myself these shoes. I promised myself I would about a year ago and I am getting really close.
7. Speaking of shoes this pair is  pretty cool, I need to replace my jogging shoes soon and I've got my eye on those. grey and mint. too perfect.

7 on Sunday : Adventure Resources

1. My favorite element of traveling would have to be weird attractions and road side oddities which makes Roadside America, my favorite great road trip planning guide as it is an online resource for known attractions by state.
2. The coolest cemetery related website I have come across is Find A Grave which lets you search for famous graves in your state. I could/ may have spent hours searching this site.
3. The National Park Service has a really informative website featuring a neat find a park option.
4. Wiki's list of museums in the United States. I basically want to visit every. single. one.
5. Google Places search feature can help jump start my trip/vacation planning process. Example.
6. Local libraries. No explanation needed.
7. I recently found out about an online resource for Utah state history online and I love that there is a list of Utah Landmarks in addition to a list of Utah Cemeteries. Through both databases I have found out about a few new places I had no idea existed before, Living in a new state is becoming more and more enjoyable as I do more and more research.

What are you're favorite resources for travel/adventure?

7 on Sunday

It's been awhile since I posted a 7 on Sunday and I am not sure why because I really enjoy this feature on the blog. I got 7 fabulous this for you. Enjoy!

1. Even though by most people's standards the Christmas Season is over... I can't stop listening to my 'A Very She & Him Christmas' CD that Sergio gifted me for Christmas. It's soooo good but not too christmasy so I just pretend its 'winter music.' (link)
2. I don't like cropped tops at all but I love this fringe cropped top DIY from Swell Made. (link)
3. I've been devouring books like crasy as of late thanks to my fancy Kindle. I am in the middle of reading Little Women and I love this cover for the book. Don't you think it would make the most precious dress or wallpaper pattern? I do! (link)

7 on Sunday

I know, as I mentioned earlier, that I've been really quite around here lately it's because I've been readjusting to life in the dorms, which is as fun as I remembered, while getting back into the swing of school. All in all college is exhausting so at the end of the day I haven't had any energy to blog or even think about reading my blog reader (as of Friday I have over 500 posts to read..CRAZY) So Eloquent Sticks and Stones is back in business I've been thinking about trying out fashion blogging for the next 2 months and seeing how I like it, although I've always desired to be a craft centered life style blog, I just think it would be a new avenue to try for awhile! What do y'all think?!  Let me know and as always have a fantastic Sunday!

1. I am not sure how I didn't find this jem on the Internet till a couple days ago but its so much fun to make yourself into a Scott Pilgrim character. Avatar link.
2. I love love love this embroidery pattern I think it would be super cute on the back of a khaki green blazer and owls are gonna be trendy for like the next 10 hundred years in the blog world I am sure. Pattern link.
3. I've used this site for a couple years now but I always lose the link so I figured when I found the library card generator I should share it on the blog so I would never lose it again. Generator link.
4. It is no secret that I love mini vans and online generators... Well this is a beautiful marriage of both of those things. Generator link.
5. I love mason jars. I've written poems about, drawn, photographed, decorated with, and even given mason jars as as gifts. Naturally when I saw this Wilco poster on facebook last week I squealed. I want to get this poster and hang it over my bed forever.
6. I am itching to start working on my 55 days of Christmas crafts ( I am gonna start planning this coming week!) and I love this pine cone candle holder I spotted on Dollar Store Crafts. I'd personally use some different materials but I love the idea. DIY link.
7. I don't have a phone with Internet connection and I don't have an Itouch with a camera (so no instagram for me..boo) but I do have a laptop with a web cam and I've found a site that is a lot of  fun and allows you to play around with web cam photos! Try it right now at this link!

7 on Sunday : The Dog Days Of Summer

I moved into my dorm to stay last night and now I am stationed 24/7 on campus. Althought I am so looking forward to the school year I am also trying to hold onto the last couple joy filled days of Summer! Lets all stop talking about Fall because I am still obsessed with this Summers heat and potential activities so this weeks 7 is full of summer to get me through this first week of school.

1. No lie I've been lusting over this pair of glittery shorts (any one remember the glitter denim circa 2002)  since I first spotted them in American Eagle at the beginning of summer. Something about this pair of shortie shorts just screams classy-ke$ha-trailer-trash-glam which is my style of choice. purchase link.
2. At the beginning of July Sergio and I had a little pool photo shoot which I am planning to share over Labor Day Weekend because it marks the  'end of summer'. p.s. Are my feet not adorable?!
3. I love a good water bottle. I love this sassy one from UO because it made me laugh out loud when I first saw it. Purchase Link.
4. I did a quick search on pintrest for 'Summer' and this amazing photo came up. I am thinking about doing  this same concept but with the Wasach Mountains from now until next summer. How cool would that be?
( Image found via Pintrest if you know the owner of this image let me know so I can credit. )
5. GAH! My favorite time waster is to google/pintrest/tumblr/weheartit search crochet clothing and my most desired item is a lovely pair of crochet shorts and I think this DIY would be the perfect cure! DIY Link via Swellmade.
6. No bake. Freezer cake. NO BAKE! Recipe Link via Food Coma.
7. I want to ride my vintage Schwinn so bad but alas it needs a lot of work. Image found via Pintrest but image credit here.

7 on Sunday

Hello! I decided a couple weeks ago that I wanted to experiment with a new format for my 7 on Sunday posts because I really enjoy writing each entry but I haven't been pleased with how all the different sized images look on the blog. So after a long brain storm I decided to make a numbered collage! I really like how this one turned out though it took a lot longer than usual to get this post ready as I was messing around with text and images for ever on gimp.

1. I spotted this pressed penny bracelet on the Dollar Store Crafts blog and I died! Well, ok not really... but I got really excited and flailed my hands around me, something I do when excited, then exclaimed "Omgosh why didn't I ever think of that?" but to be honest I did 2 years ago in my metal smithing class using the drill I thought I should make pressed penny earrings but nooooooooo I didn't do it and I didn't blog about it either. Also the photo is adorable and I want all of it to be mine but it belongs to Val.

2. Eek! This is soooo cool! My friend Sarah, my blogging soul mate, passed a long a link to me that turned out to be an Iphone cases that you can cross stitch. Another why didn't I think of that moment happened what I finally registered what I was looking at and  I seriously think this  is one of the more exciting ideas I've seen floating out on the interwebs lately. I most love that you can change the pattern repeatedly! Check the cases out here.

3. FRECKLE FACE! I found this image on Tumblr awhile ago and I love it so much but unfortunately I can't find the original source. Typical tumblr issues. The freckle faced beauty in this image is so stunning and has envious lashes going on! If you know who owns this image you should let me know!

4. I really really love this necklace from Anthro but I am sure I could make it for like 2 bucks...

5. apparently after 22 years all my wildest dreams are coming true: being a cat lady is stylish, Ariel is a hipster and glitter shoes are in vogue! This lovely pair is from Lulus and I wantttttttttttttt them!

6. stamps. made. from. bottle. caps. and. puffy. paint. enough. said. link.

7. As usual I was on etsy awhile ago searching through the results for 'Wisconsin' when I found this really rad print! I am planning on buying it for my brother and his girlfriend for Christmas as he is a botanist and obsessed with girly stuff (read: super hardcore about flowers) Link.

7 on Sunday

Hi party people! I should admit that this week was a rough one for me. I have a lot of blogging planned but not a lot of motivation to do it - my most daunting entry would have to be the grand blog memorial I am planning to write for Oliver which may seem silly but I really feel my Olie deserves at least that much. I have had surprisingly high spirits this weekend and an enjoyable Sunday. I hope each and everyone one of you are cherishing and enjoying your own summer to the fullest.

1. Eat More Cheese Lino Print

How could the Wisconsin native in me not love this print?! only 5 dollars how I wish I owned this... Link.

2. Forever21 & World Wild Life Fund line of shirts
I know I am going to purchase one, or at least keep telling myself I am, but I can't decide between the elephant, giraffe or the large cats. I really like how F21's blog, The Skinny, Styled each shirt in ways I would never even thought of. Purchase link.

3. The 2011 Twilight Concert Series
I hate on Utah a lot because it's no Wisconsin, read most of the time it's not a happening place to live, but I take it all back since I discovered the Twilight Concert Series! The Twilight Concert's are a FREE Thursday night concert series through out the summer with LEGIT bands... as in on August 11th I will be seeing Bright Eyes for free in Salt Lake City. Which will bring my Conor Oberst concert tally to 5 times. EEK! The 2011 line up and more info for the concerts can be found here.

4. Knitta Please
Need I say more? Imagine the Batmobile all knitted!? There is no doubt I love yarn bombing but for some reason I never sought out KP's website till I finally watch this Thread Banger webispode. Also the Knitta Please's website is totally rockin. Knitta, PLEASE check it out! Link.

5. The Utah Arts Festival
Friday afternoon my family and I went to the Utah Arts Festival for the first time since moving to 'Utahollar' and it was such an enjoyable experience. I saw yarn bombing for the first time, visited a part of SLC I have never been to before and listened to the musical stylings of Sarah Sample while eating a frozen cheesecake on a stick. I am going to volunteer to help at the event next year and I want to participate in the 2012 Art Attack 5k not only because it has a cute name but I am determined to participate in a 5k and what better cause to run for than art?! Link.

6. Homemade sympathy cards for Oliver's passing
Friend's of my family, have to young daughters and they made us sympathy cards over Oliver's passing that are so darling. We have two cards but I just wanted to show you the front of one card because later this week I will be sharing the front and the back of each card. I can honestly say that these cards brought me a lot of joy when I was feeling a lot of sadness. My mom has them hanging on our fridge.

7. Swimming!
My skin is so sore from being in the pool for so long the last couple days... but it's worth it!The pool water has been around 85 and by the time I get done swimming at night the water feels so much warmer than the air. My only issue is how chapped my face is from the water and Utah's famous high winds. P.s. isn't the above photo charming?! I took this photo in my pool when I first moved in with my wonderful underwater film camera and the above photo is my favorite I've taken with the camera so far.

7 on Cache's Sunday!

Hello! I mentioned on Father's Day that I had a 7 on Sunday planned out but I decided not to post it until after to allow my dad to have his own moment on Eloquent Sticks & Stones as this set is in honor of my baby Cache and the one year anniversary of finding him. I Happy belated Birthday Cache-man! I hope all my fellow Cat Lady bloggers out there enjoy this weeks Seven!

1. Cache Collage!

I love my adorable kitten Cache and buttons so how could today's 7 on (late) Sunday not feature the collage I posted last year.
 2. Canadian Cat Cabin
I think this would be the most adorable gift to give the 'babies' aka my 3 cats for Christmas because it's so adorable... and hipster cat! Link.

3. DIY Cat Feather Toy
A DIY from my home girl Martha for my baby boy Cache that looks sooooo easy! Link.

4. Meow Pix Camera
Eek! I've always wanted to own my very own Holga and I can't express how a cat Holga would be the perfect fit in my kitty filled life! Link.
 5. Diego The Cat Pillow
I think this cat pillow from OU is the cat's meow but I am posting it because I actually think I might make Sergio a pillow of Cache for when he moves into the dorms next semester and won't be seeing our little monster everyday but shhhh don't tell him. Link.

6. Necono Digital Cat Camera
I have no words just go to website when I found this camera I was beside myself with joy. Link.

7. This Black Cat Swim Suit
I've been lusting after this cat suit ever since I created a set on Polyvore earlier in the year which you can check out here. Link.

7 on Sunday

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! I am currently on a memorial day weekend get-away to West Yellowstone and Big Sky but I decided to continue my 7 on Sunday post and I hope you enjoy the series. I wasn't really lusting after much online this week, lusting just didn't feel right after a week of thinking about the rapture, many of the items on the list I own or are just things I wanted to make my readers aware of. Enjoy and if you have anything you think I might like please leave me a comment and it might make it's way on to a future 7 on Sunday list!
1. Seroogy's Mint Meltaway Bars
I had a dream on Monday night that I had to walk all over Utah selling these candy bars to raise money for tuition and since I woke up that morning I've been craving  like 4 mint melt away bars in my belly right now. link.
2. Bridesmaids
I saw this movie a couple weeks ago with Sergio and I loved it! I must report that I think Bridesmaids is way funnier than The Hangover Part 2. Kristin Wiig is amazing in her role and part of the movie is set in Milwaukee Wisconsin!
3. My New Polaroid T1035 touch screen point and shoot!
Mine is actually a 12.0 megapixel but you get the idea of how it looks. It's been since high school since I had a my own point and shoot. This camera was actually free! No Kidding! My dad's work, P&G, gave him a gift certificate for an appreciation gift to overstock and my parents offered it to me to buy a digital camera. I think my parents offered because I lost my dads DSLR in the Tsunami and my mom didn't want me to Tsunami her camera too. My moms camera by the way is the model before my new Polaroid so I think she is kinda "jelly." Our cameras look dangerously similar as hers is pink and mine is red and have the same bodyshape. This is also the first camera I've ever had that had rechargable batteries which is amazing because lack of batteries was normally the down fall of my 365 feet photo blog.  I've typed enough on this topic just know I loveeeeeeee my new camera.
4. Salvation Mountain
I've been obsessed with going to Salvation Mountain in my mini van since I saw it at the beginning of the week on a random blog. I can't say more because it speaks for itself.  link.
5. My Sleepyhead Represent Your Roots tank that finally came in the mail!
I found this lovely thing, that I featured in this 7 on Sunday post,  in my mail box on Thursday and couldn't be happier. I love Wisconsin! Purchase Link.
6. Dolica mini table top tripod
I bought the same mini tripod, as shown above, from overstock when I ordered my point and shoot. This tripod has really allowed me to see the full potential of my digital camera. Good bye blurry photogs! The legs are collapsible so it gets bigger than pictured. If you don't currently own any tripod or are hesitant about how much you need one I suggest you buy this starter one for only 9 bucks because trust me you DO need it! Link.
7. Good Design Is Good Business's new layout!
My really good friend Sarah did some Html and CSS work on her blog this past week and it really inspired me not to change up my blog but to do some spring cleaning! I am going through my pages and editing my words while feeling completely embarrassed because I've had so many typos up for months! Oh well! Check out Sarah's blog RIGHT now she is amazing and my blogging soul mate. P.s. The above photo is from her blog anddd it doesn't really have anything to do with her layout I just chose to use it because she looks like a DIVA! Link.

7 on [Mother's Day] Sunday

Happy Mothers Day everyone! Today my family and I went to church and ate at a restaurant called Aggy's for brunch which was pretty delicious. Aside from the weather today, rainy and cold, it has become full blown summer here in Utah within the last week which means I have been enjoying the warm sun and cool breeze. I hope you had as blissful of a week as I mine was! Wishing all the Mom's in the world a lovely evening! Enjoy the Seven this week!
1. My Mom
She is my biggest supporter and the most inspiring woman in my whole world.

2. This DIY Glitter banner
I am thinking I am going to make one to put above my desk, bed, and maybe I will make one for my mom next  a Mother's Day? Maybe? mostly likely not but I think I like this idea so much because it looks kinda like the Nice banner I posted about here. Spotted on Link.

3. Laura Ingalls Wilder
I am turning into a total Laura Ingalls Wilder fan girl. I've been googling her nonstop and found out she wrote so many more book than I thought she had. I could post an entire 7 on Sunday post about Laura but I am going to limit it to maybe one each Sunday.

 4. This Tank From Sleepyhead Clothing
I pre-ordered my self a shirt this week and can not wait till they ship on May 25th! Link.

I seriously have saved/bookmarked almost every image source posted on this blog, It's so inspiring. I am pretty sure I've spent at least 2 hours straight reading, on Wednesday night, You Are My Fave has a lovely minimal look and the  blog author has a consistent eye for images.

6. Fruit Salsa
Tell me this doesn't look like Summer in a bowl!?! I must make this next week or maybe later today my mom and I will whip up a batch - recipe link.

7.  I had a laugh over this chart
I find the red section the funniest because I am convinced my mom thinks I am one of the most beautiful women in the whole world and she tells me often. I've always assumed every ones mom is like that  and now I have had my feeling reaffirmed by the above chart. Link.

7 on Sunday

I hope everyone had a great week. I know I did! I went on a couple dates with my boyfriend, visited Yellowstone, shopped and relaxed a little too much. I had a pretty hard time narrowing down the 7 this week I could have probably shared 20 or more things I am loving!

1. This ModCloth Video DIY and that ModCloth is on Youtube!

2.This Wisconsin Mac & Cheese recipe is soo good and easy to make!

I made dinner on Thursday for Sergio and I and he wouldn't stop talking about how delicious it was! I I am over the moon about Sergio's review because I am a notoriously bad cook I think the recipe is just that easy to follow.

3. The Wilder Life

I first read about this book a couple weeks ago in Bust magazine, and although I haven't had the chance to purchase  the book I am sure once I finally get my hands on it I will loveeee it! The book is about a woman who after reading the Little House series as an adult decided to do a sort of Julie and Julia thing; She travelled to the places in the book, cooked the same recipes and researched the family. The main reason I am so interested in The Wilder Life is because I began reading the Little House books a couple months ago (for the first time even though I've owned the books for over 8 years)  it's one of the most magical series I have ever encountered aside from HP. You can read more about The Wilder Life on the publishers website or just click here.

4. The Crystal Necklace I Bought In Yellowstone

All over the Internet I've been spotting crystals and geodes in jewelry which I am all about as I have an insane love of rocks. So when I spotted my new necklace at a gift shop for only 11 dollars I had to have it! The crystal is kinda beat up but I love how much more character all the scratches and dings give the piece. The necklace came on a 16 inch silver chain which is amazing because now I also have a chain to wear all my silver pendents on!

This picture almost completely explains why I was obsessed with the Royal Wedding all week but not entirely.
6. The Bikini Body Post from Young, Fat & Fabulous

I saw Taylor Swift wore a suit like this but I wasn't sold on how fabulous it was until I saw it on Gabi. The bikini body post really inspired me to embrace the way I look this summer instead of feeling ashamed because I've worked really hard to make my body look the way it does today. I know I want  vintage style two piece now because ZOMGOSH she looks so good. What a Diva and all the entries at Young, Fat & Fabulous are inspiring.

7. Milwaukee Brewers Shirt from Victoria Secret
I may not be a hardXcore baseball fan but going to a Brewers game is one true blue Wisco tradition... kicking back in the sweltering sun tailgating, grilling and sweatin in the stadium is what this shirt makes me think of and I NEED IT! Check it out on Victoria Secrets Website.

P.s. I restarted my bedhead and toes blog today. If you have the time please check it out. Link.
