Knits & Noir

Things have been crazy around here and will be staying busy until Christmas. I am totally OK with having almost no time because I've been busy doing something I love which is making art! This past weekend I  finished 95% of my Christmas shopping already which I makes me feel a tad less stressed and accomplished. On the other hand I now have an estimated 60 hours of 'crafting' to complete before the 24th of December! I know,  I know! You think I am nuts right?  It's just I truly love giving handmade gifts so much that the time sacrifice is beyond worth it. On top of pretending to be a tall elf from Santa's work shop I have also been working on a commissioned piece.  Oddly I feel like the piece has been taking up so much of my time and draining me and yet I haven't actually gotten very far. I am planning on painting/pulling out my hair until the wee hours of the morning to finish the project up seeing as tomorrow is the (self imposed) mailing deadline. It's a wonderful thing I function remarkably well under pressure.
My outfits lately have been a little lack luster  for a couple reasons first being all the whole paragraph above as well as only wanting to wear knock off Uggs, chunky knits, scarves and leggings in addition to the fact that I haven't been able to do laundry for the last three weeks. I am scrapping the bottom of the barrel right now... err should I say the bottom of my closet? Oh well. There is more to life than fashion and being stylish but knit sweaters certainly do help maintain the stress of life. Don't they?! I think so. I am off to paint some pork chops till dawn.
p.s. Aren't the Wasatch Mountains stunning? I think so. It blows my mind that the spots I find so charming and photo worthy around campus tend to be located right next to parking lots.

  1. Two Things:
a.) You always look so glamourous. (Seriously) These photos are to die for.
b.) You should make a "Press" tab for your blog so you can link up all the websites that your crafts have been featured!

    Lots of love (as always),
    Sarah
